Thatcher died in 2003. It is impossible to kill Zombie Thatcher

As a future barrister-ette, you must realize that you risk penalties for "compassing" the date of Baroness Thatcher's death under the Wow! What A Hairdo Act (1992).

With the correct glasses, or going crosseyed, you can see the last message that rikkor posted in 3D

Under one of the Articles (which I can't remember at this exact moment) of the Human Rights Act 1998, I have a right to freedom of speech.
This means I am entitled to opine my views on the impending demise of Baroness Thatcher.
But I think Bonjo may have a point, although I believe she was killed in the bombing of the Grand Hotel in Brighton way back when, but was replaced with a Cyborg replicant in the hope that the electorate and Cabinet wouldn't notice the difference.
(And in Scotland, we have Advocates not Barristers)

Pardon, Mlle. L'Advocate-ette. Didn't realize; the nom probaly has something to do with Ecosse being so Frenchified. In the US, (as you assuredly know), from the most humble to those who have their own toll-free hotline, they are all just lawyers. Our family lawyers are vy. trustworthy identical twin partyers who sue or threaten to on command for the sheer joy of it. If it's enough fun for them, fees are not worth mentioning.

they are all bloody lawyers and in it for themselves, if the HUman Rights Act applies to all the UK why do privacy superinjunctions only work in England? stupid if you ask me
Posted 1 year ago # -
The reason super-injunctions don't work in Scotland is because Scotland has always retained its own legal system. This was an integral condition of the Act of Union, therefore, while Parliament can create Legislation which applies throughout the UK, English Judges cannot make law for Scotland, regardless of the HRA 1998.
And believe it or not, but some of us actually do still have scruples and a sense of altruism.
Mind you, I'm only a law student so they may be removed at Graduation.Posted 1 year ago # -
I thought you Scots preferred Advocaats.
I had scruples when I was young; it left me with a stammer and a misplaced sense of inferiority.Posted 1 year ago # -
it still sounds stupid to me, it sounds like lawyers make it up as they go alonng

From some of the words that appear in older case reports, you may well be correct.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Unlike you o b eh - you're not making it up at all. One post in 11 months (and that was complaining about other posts) then just commenting on everyone else. How creative.

OMG, Jeni! Soon you'll be having us on by telling us that Scotland is a country, like Wales and Guernsey.

Like Andorra with a few more golf courses. Or, the Sovereign Order of the Knights of Malta.

Be reasonable, whatever gave you the idea that your sense of inferiority was misplaced?

Reading your posts;)

Oooh, you little darling. Not so much a hat tip as a full fedoral removal with triple salko flung to the rack in the far corner.
Bastard.

I don't entirely approve of Scotland being allowed to make up their own laws. What if everyone wanted to do it?

'I don't entirely approve of Scotland.'
you could have just stopped there for me.

No, I like scotland, it's a great place and I visit frequently. I just wish the locals were not still so arsey about the fact that we own the place now.

Sitting tenants always cut up a bit rough. General routine is to cut off essential services and wait for the cold and damp to drive them out.
Does seem to be taking a little longer than usual in this case though...

If they did become independant then the remaining bits of the UK would have a much lower dependance on oil. Chip oil, that is.

Right you lot, outside now....

Blimey! Sounds like a Scot is about to expose their pasty face to sunshine!
Posted 1 year ago # -
Shows how much you know.
There are two types of Scots: The hard drinking, moderately to extremely criminal, over weight, 'pasty faced' variety; and the hill walking, mountain climbing, hardy, outdoorsy, ruddy faced variety.Uniquely, I'm in both camps.

My apologies, I thought there were technically three...the Good, the Bad and the Ugly (with the Good nearly extinct, of course).
Interesting you say you're in two camps...

Didn't the Good all move to Canada and set up Law Firms?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Yes, but some of them didn't really like the noisy, over-bearing neighbour, so came home again.
