It appears that the Prime Minister has taken out a super injunction preventing any reporting of an affair that has been ongoing with the leader of the Liberal Democrat Party. It seems the affair started following secret liaisons just over a year ago. Since then their relationship has flourished and both have frequently been seen together in public, attending the same events and often sitting side by side in Parliament.
However, we are prevented from revealing the identity of either individual after the High Court approved a super-injunction.
It seems that friends and colleagues of the pair are just beginning to discover the impact of the affair and how much it is going to hurt them as well as the pair themselves. There are growing pressures for the couple to stop the affair and those closest to them hope that the secrecy afforded by the court will provide time for the situation to resolve itself. Hopes that things are developing were raised earlier today as one of the couple has been seen wining and dining with somebody else, though it has transpired that this person is married and probably lives too far away for any serious relationship to develop (although the two have had a secret “hot-line” installed to help them keep in touch so who knows).
