I have an idea for an article but it's not quite coming together so I thought I'd open it to collaboration. You know this American Civil War historical societies where they re-enact famous battles and so on? Well what if Al Quaeda and so on engaged in similar activities. They could gather en masse to fly model places into replica WTCs and throw office worker dummies from it and so on.
The problem with this is it's not very funny and sort of in bad taste but I think the germ of a good article is here. Can anyone see the angle I'm missing?

Hmm, it might have some legs. Could have actor suicide bombers walking round with sausages strapped to themselves, which they cook on the village green bbq later

How about Cold War re-enactment societies.
People dress up as generals, sit in arm chairs and spend all day resisting pressing a big button in front of them.

Or re-enactment re-enactment societies? People who dress up as people dressed up as soldiers and re-enact re-enactments of battles?

I like that JP.
Or maybe re-enactments of films about battles? Or just films in general.

How about reeacting Rooney going off with a prozza, then the superinjunction and all the tweets ... I'll get my coat

I like the Cold War re-enactment idea.
I think maybe the article might work if it were re-focused to not so much be about terrorism re-enactment (though that would merit a mention) but be about silly re-enactments in general instead. For example it's pretty easy to imagine a satirical re-enactment of dubious incidents like the Falklands Conflict.

Re; Falklands Conflict. Perhaps having the small children of participants dressing as penguins and sheep?
It's the very best I can come up with after a day of reading Uni textbooks. While they do inspire satire, they also induce sleep.

To quote Halfmanhalfbiscuit: "sealed knot society, reinact this one: Luton Town / Millwall, 1985"
(I may have got the year wrong).
