   Congratulations to Toasts_Not_Ghosts aka James Mylet whose first novel is published today. Toasts has been a contributor to NewsBiscuit for many years and he credits this site with kick-starting his writing which is great to hear. The book is available in all good bookshops and some crap ones too and it's a funny and enjoyable read... Check it out...

   Thanks guys, it means a lot.

   Sorry i haven't posted here for a long time but working on the book and a young son meant i haven't had much time.

   It really was Newsbiscuit that helped me on the way. I always write short stories or had stupid ideas and tried to submit stuff to The Onion and Private Eye but they don't take anything, but i never knew if anything was any good. This was the first place i could get some feedback and see some stuff was good and some stuff was rubbish. It also lead me to try to get stuff on programmes like Look Away Now and Newsjack (most stuff rejected but a couple of bits got through)

   After giving up on writing after two failed novels Newsbiscuit and getting int eh Isle of Wight Ceefax book gave me the incentive to go back and write a third and it is that one that that is the book that came out Thursday. It also gave me a small foot in as i could go to agents and show pieces of work and say look i did this already.

   Thanks for everything guys, i'll definitely be back when this first book tanks.
