Mal Goring, owner of the Goring Hotel in Belgravia near Buckingham Palace, was barred from entering Westminster Abbey this morning on account of being covered in noodles.
Bride-to-be Kate Middleton and her family had enjoyed their overnight stay at the five-star hotel, but the pleasantness ended in the morning when Mr Goring had personally shown Miss Middleton to her seat for the Wedding Day Breakfast and presented her with a ‘recently re-heated’ complementary Pot Noodle.
‘Is that complimentary with an ‘i’ or complementary with an ‘e’?’ Miss Middleton enquired. Mr Goring, as unsure on spelling as he is on Royal Etiquette, replied ‘you look great, Kate; the noodles are on me.’
‘They are now,’ said Miss Middleton.
