After her second mauling of a high level politician, Gillian Duffy has been captured by the NSPCA and it is anticipated she will be put to sleep in the coming days.
Although Duffy has been known as a notorius 'biter' in the Rochdale area for many years, is was not until she slipped the lead of her owner during the 2010 election campaign did she come to national prominence. It is said that her first victim, Gordon Brown, is still nervous when he hears barking and keeps one good eye out for her, especially when he visits the shops or has to cut across the wasteland to the chippy shop.
Local neighbours of Duffy have stated their relief that her latest savaging of Nick Clegg has finally forced the authories to act. Many comment that a local old peoples' home is equally full up of 'biters' and it would be within the public interest to see them banned along with mastiffs and the Japanese Tosa. If any old person was then seen outside without a muzzle, local enforcers could step in. Duffy herself was unavailable for comment - other than saying 'Sausages' whilst her owner, David Milliband, held her lower jaw.
