A new TV cop show that shows the police as they really are has had to be pulled after it was too broing and mundane with no real characters.
"It was like an episode of The Office, without the jokes," said one horrified script editor.
"If that's what the murder squad are really like, I'm bloody glad I live in a gated community locked away from the hoi polloi," said a BBC producer. "In future, I'm going to stick to plot lines and dialogue copied from America."

We had a writers' circle chat with an ex-gun squad training officer about the real procedures involved in an armed intervention. It was horrendously dull, apparently. Lots of officers, lots of stand-by time. Action was the least desired outcome: in a good operation the gang would be in the bag with nary a grimace. zzzzzz.
