Have you noticed that whenever a probation officer, lawyer or youth worker tries to steer a young hoodlum away from a life of crime, they always say "A good looking kid like you wouldn't last long in prison, would you?"

What I'd like to know is: why oh why are so many militant homosexuals ending up in prison?

It's a long time since the days of Oscar Wilde. I'm sure you'll agree, as would many Daily Mail readers, that these days political correctness has gone too far the other way.

So, isn't it time the gay community got its act together?

The figures do tell an interesting story, outside of prison only about 4% of the population is homosexual, whilst inside that figure jumps to over 40%.
I'm not sure that we can really blame the homosexual community but we need to look at the wider responsibilities of our whole society. I truly believe that having segregated theatre schools in our country just does not help matters.

I'm puzzled about the reputation that armed robbers seem to have.

Gays are generally nice sensitive people, I'm sure you'll agree. And yet, and yet, there seems to be another side of them that enjoys terrifying the staff at banks and post offices.

None of this adds up. But I doubt we'll get any kind of serious debate from our politicians.

Maybe if our society was more welcoming then they wouldn't feel the need to return to the safety net of the penal system where it's more easy to fit in. It sounds a bit counter intuitive but if we could get the suburban B&B owners to take a more active role in deciding who gets to stay at Her Majesties pleasure then I think we could really make some progress.

So were they denying their true sexuality prior to conviction? If so, was incarceration in some way a blessed relief?

As they say in prison: If you can't do denial, don't win your trial!

The sad thing is I've known ex-cons who've left prison and live the lie of moving back in with a wife or girlfriend. Is it any wonder that re offending levels are what they are?

Another thing that struck me was that there was a time when gays and neo-nazis had very similar dress styles.

Shaved heads, tight drainpipe jeans, denim jackets, boots.

What does it all mean?

That Jimmy Somerville was a radical neo-Nazi gay?

More likely that the "Bovver Boys" had suppressed homosexual feelings which caused a surge of hatred and fear leading to them adopting this aggressive and threatening personae.

I have a (very) vague recollection of a film along these lines.

I was given a flu vaccine, now I'm being monitored.

There are these mad women in the lab that are staying in for 40 days, while an epilsepy drug is tested on them. One of the side effects is they appear woozy and light headed, like genial drunks

If they complete their sentence, they get six grand.

It's only being tested on women though.

Once again, it's one rule for them....

Boston. Newport Rhode Island (nearly got arrested there, and, in a sepereate incident, in a fight) Jersey City, San Francisco, Noow yawk, San Diego, in fact every one horse twon on the california coast between San Fransicso and San Diego, Denver, Atlanta...

I've been drunk in all those towns, and met a Frankie-I'll-Drink-with-you-man-keep-em-coming in every bar, who gave me a full frank and accurate low down on local politics.

At least I make the effort to be sociable.
