This is why I despair of NewsBiscuit. This is a site for original humour, why post this old joke?

I'd not heard it before, so to me it was a new joke. It shouldn't be Newsbiscuit of which you should despair, if despairing is required it should be of me; this is just the ideas room, the jokes haven't been veted. To be honest you wouldn't be the first too despair of me, you should meet my parents. Apologies to anyone who had already heard it previously.

I'm sorry if you really believed this was original. The exact same joke was done to death at the time of the Indonesian tsunami back in 2004.
I just hate this beautiful site being dragged down to the level of a bunch of beery guys in the pub saying "Here's one I heard earlier"...

That's fair enough, we put them here for such problems to be pointed out. I will blame my Faux Pas on the fact that I am only 7 years old and missed the first time this joke came round. Honest.

Is anything original? Debate
For what its worth the odd old chestnut doesn't ruin the site as long as fresh talent keeps coming in. As a relitive newby myself, I welcome Screenie. Keep it up old chum. About 90% of my submisions have been completely ignored. I'm getting used to the sound of tumbleweed but still get a buzz when one hits the group funny bone.Posted 2 years ago # -
All is fair in love and jokery. Welcome appreciated.

What's wrong with being beery?
Having said that, the Toon Army/Tsunami joke got Rodney Marsh sacked from Sky Sports back in... years ago anyway.
(Do you think Sky Sports is PC? Or do you think they just wanted to terminate Rodney Marsh's contract?)

Nothing but being too beery leaves you too hung overy.
Shit, cue the grammar police over 'overy'

You could always try posting some yourself.Posted 2 years ago # -

You could always try pasting some yourself.Quite right. At least get yourself a greenhouse before you start casting the stones.

I, personally, had never heard this joke, and I'm sure the OP hadn't otherwise he wouldn't have posted. If it's been done to death before, I'm sure it won't make it to the front page as a ticker. End of. It's not his fault, it's not Newsbiscuit's fault, it just happens.
Some people just assume the worst of people just for the chance to bitch and feel better about themselves.

My mother-in-law is so fat...
yes, we know, its glandular.
nothing at all to do with all the cakes, chocolate and chips she eats.

I didn't know, until recently, that the mother-in-law joke was born of an age when married couples often had to live with the parents of the bride, until they could afford to get their own place.
So it was born out of frustration, rather than hatred of women. Then again, there was no father in law joke.
I rather like the Tsunami/Toon Army joke.
I wouldn't say my mother in law's stupid, but she couldn't understand why Newcastle fans had a giant rave in Japan
