Well alas, I cannot make the 5th as I now reside the in the inbred wilds of Dorset and don't arrive in the smoke until the 6th. I reiterate my invitation of the 6th for interested parties. We could put it to the vote, but the results will have to be interpreted in both the FPTP and AV systems.

Dorset eh? To be fair, I guess you have to set off on your journey on 3rd May.

How did you end up down there? Did someone say 'get your coat love, you've Pooled'?
Pause to recover after bad pun. Will try to make it but not sure which group. Is one cooler than the other, in which case i need to head for the uncool. Really quite useful to have both days possible as the children have quite literally shat all over similar plans in the past.
Was thinking I'd never put faces to the pseudonyms before, but had forgotten about the first birthday meal. I seem to recall we all sat around slightly stunned by the presence of our betters, all hoping the masks didn't slip to reveal our inner boring bastards. Or was that just me?Posted 2 years ago # -
Is this an "in-crowd" only thing? Or am I allowed to say that I'm busy on that date too?

As someone who can't even get a place in the 'out' crowd, I'd just like to point out that I'll be busy that night too, whichever night you plump for. I'll be washing my hare.
Never the same since that time it got jugged. Fuckin' filthy lagomorphic bastard.

If the pub call is exclusive it's only in the 'exclusive behind the scenes footage' sense of being limited to anyone with access to an Internet connection who could be bothered to browse to this chat topic

With regard to the 'which night is cooler' question, it would be wrong to try to sway people either way. I will only state the facts. Des and Stan, who will be convening on the 5th, are well into their seventies and are currently both enjoying their umpteenth toupee/denture set. I am 22, blonde, struggling to find a bra to contain my voluptuous bosoms and will be arriving on the 6th with my sexually inexperienced but profoundly bi-curious cheerleading squad who have a particular thing for buying comedy writers large amounts of beer. It's six of one, really.

Hang on - is it the Cheese for the 5th too? I forget. And my laziness knows no bounds. To save me from scrolling up please remind me if this is true below.
I should be fit and able to make both nights - might take a breather from work that Friday...

Venue for 5th TBA but will be London Bridge-ish, though not stopping anyone going to the Cheese.

Mr Custard : London Bridgeish...Posted 2 years ago # -
Well, in addition to owning a wine merchants I live in my better half's pub in Dorset, so I am always up for a good night of not-drinking at least once a year. How about the 7th not in pub?

I know a great pub in Dorset in a village called Piddletrenthide, but that is another story. As is the rather lovely evening I spent with a certain Ms Evans in Guildford. Now that neither of us are expecting any more children, I will plan to be at the Cheese on 6th.

I can't make either, if that's any help

B-J, how about the 7th in the Smith Arms in the Cerne valley, assuming it's still shut.

Phew, remembered my password, eventually.
It just so happens that I'll be off work that day, so would be very pleased to come along and take part in the festivities. That is if people on here are actually real; knowing my luck all the posts on here are by internet 'bots' controlled by Russian spammers and after stepping through the pub door I'll be whisked away to Siberia to entertain Lord Lucan and the passengers from that Korean airliner what got shot down.
It shall be momentous!

I shall be there.

Hello chappies - looking forward to drinkies on Friday - shall we say from 6.30ish at Ye Cheshire Cheese? Which is where, incidentally? No idea personally - last few times there have been drinks there, I have been inconveniently pregnant. I shall attempt to neither be so, nor leave so on this occasion. Looking forward to it - mine's a large glass of Sauv. Actually, make it the bottle xxx

Bugger, I've checked, and I'm still in Australia. Have one for me, everyone.
Last chance for any forward-thinking commercial enterprise to sponsor my flight...? Oh.Posted 2 years ago # -
Good subterfuge Rick. I won't tell them you're coming to the London Bridgeish event on the 5th. OMG that's tomorrow. Must get something sorted. Youngs pub near London Bridge, someone.

I can't make it, but will toast your health from a safe distance. And don't forget to take some pics.
Make sure they behave Mary!
