Actor Colin Firth got into an altercation with rival Rupert Everett after an alcohol fuelled night of BAFTA parties on Sunday. The award winner has a long standing feud with Everett (son of comedian Kenny) after both went for the part of Grant Mitchell in Eastenders many years ago. They lost out to secret posh-bloke Ross Kemp who actually went to Eton with David Cameron.
Both grew up together in Hackney and used to be great friends, attending RADA together where they learned to talk posh. The pair blamed each other for losing out on the Albert Square roll after mucking about at the auditions. They were left fuming as Kemp was cast as he wasn’t a real cockney like them.
The duo had to be separated by bouncers as a fight broke out after Firth allegedly smashed a glass on the bar and said
You come any closer Rupert an I’ll cut ya, ya c**t.Everett replied
you want some ? come on then you numpty.Their managers attempted to play down the fracas and said the two would be meeting up for beer and jellied eels very soon.
