The three main parties have each been found to be operating a "no fat blokes" policy for the election campaign. The revelations come after the leaking of a Tory central office document "Electioneering for beginners" which has a section entitled "Gravitas not gravity" extolling the merits of hiding from the camera's any "overweight, middle aged balding candidates" during the campaign.
A Labour spokesman who wishes to remain anonymous, confirmed that Labour have had a similar policy since "chief salad dodger" retired. When questioned about Mr Brown's position, the spokesman added that the PM has extended his oft chanted mantra with "big boned not fat" and can be heard chanting this before cabinet "morning prayers" along with "our work in Iraq was a success", "the economy is recovering" and "God bless George Bush".
The Lib Dems denied directly discriminating against "those with a weight problem" but did confirm that they still operate a first past the post candidate selection criteria which is based on the 100 yard dash.
