it is still possible to get copies of Spike Milligan's Q series? I watched that tribute show recorded at the Guildhall in 2002 last week on the box and thought what a shame that I never see those shows repeated nowadays.
I particularly enjoyed the tribute to Elgar, played on "his favourite instrument - the garden hosepipe".
Brilliant.
I once met Spike at a 'Friends of the Earth' fund-raiser in the late 80's; a really humorous and charming man; surprisingly tall as well. The Q series' were hilarious, but distinctly 'off-colour' by today's standards. It's unlike the BBC to miss a marketing opportunity; I daresay they'll all be out on DVD at some point.
