Sweet displays in sweet shops are to be banned in England as part of a package to reduce childhood obesity. Children as young as five have been known to choose to spend their pocket money by simply pointing at the sweet jars.
The sweets, normally displayed behind the counter will now have to be hidden in a secret cupboard; probably above the sink.
A consultation will also be launched on whether manufacturers should be forced to make all sweets beige.
