Members of the public have until 6th May to register for a new member of parliament free of charge if they scrap their current one.
Current rules state that the MP must be proven to be outdated, out of touch and obsolete to qualify for scrappage. Industry experts are expecting a surge in interest for the scheme in the next month, with a predicted take-up rate of over 50% in areas such as the North of England and Scotland.
Analysis has shown the most popular MPs to be scrapped are red ones, which are mostly likely to be replaced with blue or possibly yellow.
