Having watched a recent interview by the BBC, Susan Rice, US Ambassador to the UN, has called Colonel Gaddafi “delusional”, “out of touch with reality” and “patently not the full dinar”. The colonel, appearing drunk or drugged, was seen to embrace Jeremy Bowen, the corporation’s Middle East Editor, in a tearful bear-hug, insisting “I love you, Jeremy, I really, really do. Let’s go on holiday together”.
While acknowledging that ‘mad as a badger’ fell short of being a clinical diagnosis, Ms Rice felt that Gaddafi had lost all credibility as a leader, as well as most of his marbles. “Even by the deplorable standards of other crazed tyrants, unelected dictators and Charlie Sheen, Colonel Gaddafi is a loose camel”...
