In a shock announcement today Olympic chiefs have confirmed that WWE will be an Olympic sport at the 2012 games in London.
"We have been monitoring the WWE for many years and feel it is a sport with a strong Olympic spirit of fairness and playing by the rules." a spokesman for the Olympic Committee said. "These men and women are true athletes playing by the rules all the time, they are great competitors who do not know when they are beaten and show true athleticism."
Vince McMahon the Chairman of WWE was at the announcement and stated he was proud to allow his wrestling stars to compete at the Olympics saying he had some great ideas for the matches at the games. He also reminded people that an ex Olympic champion had been in the WWE for a number of years before moving to that other company, so it must be a valid sport.
When asked if they were concerned that the Gold Medal outcome would be known well before the matches neither looked concerned saying John Cena would be a great Olympic champion.
