An innocent game of Monopoly between friends the last Saturday evening ended in dispute when the banker refused to give anybody any money until his bonus expectations were addressed. As the situation worsened, the hat, racing car, thimble and Scottie dog refused to allow the banker to take all the money left in the bank as bonus for “a good year’s work”, even though the bank profits were actually all due to the hard work and sacrifices of the other contestants. Things then deteriorated as the banker awarded himself a massive pay-rise and threatened to emigrate to a country with fewer regulatory constraints (taking the money with him).
