Larry, the new Downing Street cat, is under increasing pressure to resign after claims that he knew more than he originally let on about a number of mice that had been hacked into.
‘Larry has always denied any involvement in this case,’ said Prime Minister David Cameron. ‘He has assured me that if any ‘mice hacking’ occurred then it was done without his knowledge, probably by some rogue cats. His word is good enough for me. I back him 100%.’
Scotland Yard have been asked to investigate following complaints by a number of celebrity rodents who feel that they may have been targetted by Larry including Rastamouse, Dangermouse and Stuart Little. Meanwhile, police are still investigating the mysterious disappearance of Nick Clegg's pet hamster, Basil.
'Larry's position is looking increasingly untenable,' said BBC Political Editor Nick Robinson. ‘He has always denied that he had any skeletons in his closet. It now appears that not only is his closet full of tiny skeletons, but that he cynically attempted to cover up his actions by eating all the evidence.’
