A cloud hangs over Pompeii today as the club face administration and a 9 point deduction. Avram Grant is said to be incandescent at the news and many of the players are despondent as they wait for the dust to settle. Fans are openly horrified, “There have been rumblings for a while” said one, “but we all believed things would be ok, now our dreams are just ash in our mouths.”
