Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard has apologised for no-one being killed in the recent hurricane.
'I'm really sorry,' she said to the assembled press. 'It's such a tragedy that you can't get any ghoulish headlines about the number of dead and injured, and then fill up your papers with loads of stories about suffering, grief and bereavement. Nor can you gleefully put in stories about people being blown against live electric cables and fried to death. It's rubbish, really, and I sincerely apologise for telling people to get out of the area and stay safe.
'Next time there's a hurrican due, I won't say a word about it.'
