Earlier today the Consortium of News and Press Editors admitted that so far they have probably not provided enough coverage of the UK election activities. At a press conference following a closed session to discuss the matter, a spokesperson announced that the unanimous decision that they would forthwith dramatically increase there coverage of this important event. “It only happens once every 5 years and impacts everybody’s lives in a big way and thus deserves a lot more coverage in terms of column inches and allocated TV time”. The BBC are considering increasing the broadcast hours on their News 24 channel to accommodate additional coverage.
In addition the meeting decided that in the interests of public decency, Lord Mandleson will no longer be a “reportable event”.
