Road users are urging the Government to intervene in an attempt to bring down soaring cyclists' smugness, which reached a two year high earlier this week.
'It's becoming almost unbearable for some motorists to use their vehicles' said Andy Kane from the Road Users Alliance. 'These cyclists need to be brought down a peg or two. We know you're saving the planet and we're destroying it - we don't need to know how you're not affected by rising oil prices as well!'.
Haulier Bob Morton added 'on the continent smugness is much lower than it is here, so foreign hauliers spend far less time running the bastards off the road. It gives them a massive advantage over us.'
Chancellor George Osborne said that he sympathised with all motorists who have regular contact with a cyclist, but ruled out the possibility of action being taken. 'All I can suggest is that motorists buy themselves a Toyota Prius' he said, 'then they can be just as smug and annoying as any cyclist.'
