Van Morrison will have to change his name on all his back catalogue albums as well as future releases. Under new legislation as part of “The description of goods and services directive” all names of goods, products and services have to be clear and unambiguous.
A spokesthingy said on behalf of Mr Morrison “I am incensed that the name I have been using for 50 years has been judged inappropriate by some faceless bland bureaucrat from Brussels”, however EC commissioner Terne Sans Visage has declared this a “justified right of all Europeans”
A new “Greatest Hits” cd will be released in November titled “Truck with enclosed cargo space Morrison’s Greatest Hits”.
Meatloaf is apparently upset that he will now have to be billed as “Meatloaf (55%) including mechanically recovered” and recent chart toppers Owl City will now be known as “nests”, though they are happy with this.
