The Mail, sorry
Er, aren't there more pressing current cases forensics could be investigating?

Doctor Crippen, surely?
I recall a tv program that suggested he was a back-street abortionist......a serious crime then, not sure if a capital offence, anyway, if he was he kept quiet and didn't squeal to save himself.
He went to his death very bravely, his last words, to the hangman as he stepped onto the trap-door..."Are you quite certain this is safe?"Posted 2 years ago # -
It's good to see the Police Complaints Commission is finally getting through its backlog of cases, though.

The story has done the rounds. Interestingly, though, his wife disappeared and was never seen again and he fled with his mistress. He was convicted on circumstantial evidence rather than forensics, which wasn't really available then, so by the standards of the day it wasn't unjust.

The body had it HEAD missing - but it's taken DNA evidence to discover it was a MAN?

Lets see, Crippen was a homeopath?
I suppose you could argue that, while he was convinced of his own innocence, coming up with any real evidence for it would go against his professional ethics.
According to the principles of homepathy, he could have poisoned her with a 200C dilution of Paracetamol and 'Pantene ProV'. Ergo: all they found was a headless corpse!
