A new investigation is being promised by cricket's governing body after fresh bribery allegations surfaced in Pakistan.
A tabloid newspaper says it has video footage of the nation's former test captain Salman Butt, offering to throw the current ICC Code of Conduct inquiry into bribery and match fixing allegations during their series against England in 2010.
On the film, Butt can be heard telling the undercover reporter 'I might be found guilty or I might cleared. But if you suggest a good enough amount, I can swing it either way."
"These fresh allegations are devastating." Imran Ahktar, the cricket correspondent of Pakistan's Nation newspaper said. "Just when we hoped that this investigation would be marking the end of a dismal and disappointing period in our cricketing history, Salman seems to have gone a screwed us over again."
The footage suggests Butt is willing to either incriminate himself or attempt to clesar himself during the current investigation. It's understood the ICC is already viewing the film and will make a decision on the status of the current probe in the next few days.
