Stephen Hester, CEO of the state-owned Royal Bank of Scotland, has refused to stop paying huge bonuses to his employees.
“You’re not the boss of me!” Hester told Vince Cable, Business Secretary of the United Kingdom, who has authority of UK business policy. “I can pay people whatever I want. Nyah nyah nyah!”
Mr Hester then ran out of the room, back to his office, where he hid under his desk, sucking his thumb, until it was time to watch In the Night Garden.
Mr Cable responded by warning Mr Hester that if he didn’t lower his total bonus payments from £1.3 billion to £1 billion, he would be placed on the Naughty Step for 50 minutes.
