Currently under fire for its lurid cot death and baby swapping story, soap opera EastEnders is today at the centre of a fresh controversy following the leak of a plotline that will shock even the most seasoned soap addicts.
Inspired by Tom Six’s 2010 horror film ‘The Human Centipede’ viewers will witness harrowing scenes as three characters are sewn together mouth-to-anus by a fourth resident of Albert Square who purely for their own amusement attempts to create a monstrous chimera that shares a single digestive tract.
Spokesperson for EastEnders, Nilasha Ghosh, denied that the program was simply trying to boost ratings by becoming increasingly violent and sensationalist.
‘The Human Centipede story will unfold quite naturally as part of the day-to-day events of Albert Square and be much more down to Earth than the big screen version. For example the centipede in the film consisted of two women and a man all in their twenties with great bodies and model good looks something which would leave our core viewership feeling alienated. The EastEnders human centipede will be made from Big Mo, Pat Butcher and Charlie Slater allowing some of our older characters to really step up and shine.’
Despite the leak Ghosh insists that there are still elements of surprise that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats.
‘As soon as Dot Cotton is seen reaching for a needle and thread then staring at her tea party guests with a savage and calculating expression there will be only one question on the nation’s lips: Big Mo, Charlie or Pat - who is going to be the person in the middle?’
