He probably has the whole plan tattooed over his body, including his escape plan from jail.

they should check tattoo artists straight away ,or try some cunning plan to get him to take his shirt off.maybe a free spray tan voucher.

that would explain why in his first interview after reporting her missing he said "she 'was' my future"

The 'Barry George on stand-by' one-liner said it all. Every time the tabloid media feast on a murder (usually of a pretty young woman, preferably blonde), there is this hideous lather of innuendo, hints and overt pressure on the police.
Result: the local nutters, eccentrics and ne'er-do-wells all get rounded up and the one who can't account for his whereabouts and/or 'looks right' gets hounded into making a false confession or is otherwise fitted up for it. The Daily Mail looked to have got its pound of flesh in Christopher Jeffries - for whom read Barry George, Michael Stone and many more in days gone by - the only difference being that Jeffries is educated and intelligent enough to face them down.
This country is sick.

Is that sick good or sick bad ?

I think this is taking the piss out of the tone of media & public speculation rather than the victim herself.

Sadly, I think Garry really does blame the boyfriend.

I wouldn't underestimate the depth of Gazza's misanthropy...

It is rather entertaining to swoop back here for a moment to find that satirists who rely on stereotyping for their effects have come out to unequivocally defend Plod stereotyping, aka "profiling" as a crime solving device. My own "profiling" methods indicated to me that, on the face of it, the neighbour was a more likely suspect than the poor chap on whom the Daily Mail pounced. Jeffries was far too exotic to be an "obvious" or "usual" suspect.

Just a note on profiling - despite it's glamorisation in TV programmes such as 'cracker' and 'criminal minds', psychological profiling plays a significant role in less than 15 - 20% of serious criminal convictions (UK & US averages). The police tend to prefer hard evidence to a method that can be sometimes be little better than phrenology in its accuracy. Statistically, the great majority of murders are committed by people known to the victim - family members, friends, colleagues, landlords et al. So, perhaps the police weren't too misguided in taking a hard look at Jeffries.

George Carlin said it well ,don't be afraid of strangers ,it's someone you know that will probably kill ya.
If she had met someone off face book there would have been records of any interaction between her and the killer ...
A lot of people have got away with murder ,because the police did not not thoroughly check out the Alibi.Posted 2 years ago # -
That is you arrghharry - George Carlin has given you away!!!

This case baffles me.
I thought the media (and the police press office) had already found the landlord guilty.

Notice that the esteemed Daily Mail reports calls for "all men in Bristol to give DNA". How did they rule out all non-Bristolians?...or don't people travel much in the west-country?
Posted 2 years ago # -
I thought all men in Bristol had the same DNA anyway.
Posted 2 years ago # -
And why are they (the Daily Mail) so sure it was a man?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Definitely. And she should come round to my room and take them off, very slowly.
What?
