“He’s a really nice guy, has a pet rabbit called Dubya and his favourite explosive is semtex” is how Piers Morgan describes terrorist leader Osama Bin laden in advance of next Saturday’s televised “Grilling” by the British TV host.
“Many people think that because he’s the world’s most wanted man responsible for killing thousands of innocent civilians he’d be a bit nasty – you know a bit like Vinny Jones – but he really is lovely and quite funny at times; a bit of a lovable rogue really.”
Morgan denied that he should have informed UK and US security services of the planned meeting in ITV’s London studios “But that would have jeopardised my journalistic integrity, and I wouldn’t do that for anyone, besides which they’d have disrupted the show."
“I felt a bit sorry for him really” said Morgan “After all, the royal connections, fabulous wealth and amazing good looks meant he should have had a fantastic life, but instead he’s forced to share a semi-detached cave with Adolf and Eva; he doesn’t even have a swimming pool, and that sets him apart from most of my guests.”
“One of the conditions of his appearance was that he could use the studio after the interview to make a couple of recordings of himself. Nothing wrong with that I thought. After all what harm could he do.”
Morgan denied that he should have pushed Bin Laden harder on his terrorist crimes but said “Look, one of the conditions of the interview was no terrorist questions, but I thought that asking him if he’d ever used Just for men on his beard was a little bit cheeky.”
