Just throw an apostrophe in at the end of "writers" and you'll be there.

I'm just thrilled there is a W in 'writers'.
So many software engineers are illiterate ankers.

I've got some spare apostrophes you can use in the mean time.
Here you go...

Though on more mature reflection, it may just be that the [supposed] suppression of an apostrophe places the emphasis on the word "room", working here as a verb. Thus, any number of Writers are assembled, doing something called "rooming".
Perhaps.

Perfectly valid interpretation, Mr T. The OCD has
room, v. chiefly N. Amer. share lodgings, especially at a college or similar institution
I think NB counts as a 'similar institution'.

Malgor, if that were true (which it isn't), all references would be consistently expressed, which they are not.

Well, I see all three variations scattered around the site - Writers, Writer's and Writers'. It's either democracy gone mad or anarchy retaining its sanity. When it says chiefly N. Amer., is that, like, amongst descendants of native Indians?
You can also put code in between backtick ( ` ) characters
it says quite clearly at the bottom of the page. Well, I'm gonna try n put 'code' between backtick characters. Nope. Knew it. Can't be done. I can make a ¬ and a ¦ but how do you get the backtick symbol? One thing's for sure - a backtick ain't no apostrophe.
̀Ah, wait a minute, there it is, in front of the A. Hang on...
̀ code ̀
There! I did it! Well, sort of. (In the Edit Post box, I see it's just expressed as a direct command: Put code in betweenbackticks
. I obeyed.)Posted 10 years ago # -
Although Mr Kor's remarks appear on the surface to offer verisimilitude to his objections, a dialogue has developped which lends insights to an opposing view.
For example, had the authors of this site wished to make North Americans of native descent quite at home, they would have provided a reserved space referred to as Writers Room.
The Writer's Room, therefore, would tactfully be placed at the disposition of the furtive poet, whereas the Writers' Room would be offered to a gregarious community of sharers.
Which, come to think of it, reminds me of the old adadge: When exception proves the rule, your pedant makes a useful tool.

I'd just like to add a big thank you to Nice Admin Lady for explaining the backtick function. But I still can't find a backtick on my keyboard.
