I read the Da Vinci Code from first page to last, curious to know why millions of people bought the book. I still haven't a clue. The characters were two dimensional (if that...), and I simply couldn't imagine any of the scenes happening. And the writing itself was as dull and plodding as everyone says it is. And the guy's a multi-millionaire. Just one more unfathomable mystery...

Even worse - people thought it was factual.

That was funny. I am a total literature snob, but I admit thinking "The Da Vinci Code" was a real page-turner. Full of pseudo history, but still a fun read.

Me too Rikki baby.
Have read all his stuff and found him highly roller-coasteresque and entertaining (films were shite though). Like you say, a fun read and should be approached as such.
If you buy a Mars Bar don't expect Ferrero Roche
But then I am a HUGE Lee Child/Jack Reacher fan, brilliant writing and faultless attention to pulp genre detail....and Robert Goddard is brilliant too
Poles apart - one stereotypical USA and the other stereotypical GB - but both well worth the money.
Cock strutting at its very best.Posted 2 years ago # -
