I hate to be the hippy girly one to say this, but surely to fuck there is enough room on here for everyone?

I must be getting old, but all this sniping is really pissing me off. Previously, I'd have barely given it a thought, but it's getting nasty and personal.

If you don't like a thread, ignore it. If you don't like what someone has replied, deal with it and move on like the grown-ups we're all supposed to be.

Jeezo, I work with primary school kids everyday, explaining this sort of shit to them.
I come here as an escape from that bollocks, and could really, really do without it here too.

My apologies for my colourful language, but come on!

I was pleased to see a site there was politeness, encouragement, positive thought.
I have been on others, music, film and other hobbies and have been struck by how much bitching there was.
I hope Plucky stays.

I appreciate the points made by some about this being a chat board which was intended to be for "all things comedic", and that, yes, frequently it veers off topic, but I think that that was because, generally, we're mostly quite friendly, and have built up a genuine rapport. Or as genuine as it can be online.

There is too much bitching now, but that is because (IMHO) some people, and not just Plucky, take comments too seriously/personally.
Yes, I know I have been guilty of this too, but I now make an effort not to.

But this place has a fantastic sense of support, positive criticism, and as you say, encouragement, let's keep it that way.

Well-said, Jeni. Been on several sites and given up beacause they were either really unpleasantly cruel and negative or so artily up their own danders they didn't appreciate my more down to earth and, indeed, earthy approach (to poetry, that was ... but probably goes for everything).

I like the weird n wonderful mix of characters on here. The place would be the poorer without Plucky or Rikkor.

I yearn for gentler times when we discussed more civil matters, such as anal garlic insertion, squirrel-licking, how to smuggle a chicken out of Waitrose using only a rectum, just how much of Scotland Jeni had slept with, just how many of the rest of the UK I hadn't, Babs' unique brand of masculinity, Rick's badger cheese-feeding mother and other such pleasantries.

There was recent mention of the garlic insertion over on the Old Biscuit thread Mary. And I'm afraid that I was the dirty birdy that brought it up.

Zadok, given the grammatical peccadilloes of this site, surely you must realise that if I had intended the meaning you infer, I would have written, "...surely, to fuck, there is enough room...".

Has there been a rumpus? I've been passed out under an armchair for a bit in Malgor's thread so I may have missed something. I'm sure it'll sort itself out.

I know of the ways of the OldBiscuit, but surely they were all wiped out in the Cone Wars, a time when Glaswegian ice cream men fought a desparate batte for control of the pitch outside the park on Sunday afternoons?
