I wrote to the Pope to ask him to use his Christmas Day speech to tell folk to be nice to Doylem but he went with the peace thing. Shame.

When I write this comment, you have already flounced back. There is no sense flouncing unless you have been here for at least a year.

Yes, sorry. An unforgivable lapse in flouncing etiquette...

but by which definition of 'flounce' should I translate your posts?

    1. to move (away) in anger, impatience etc She flounced out of the room.

    2. To move in a lively or bouncy manner: The children flounced around the room in their costumes.

    3. a strip of fabric attached by the upper edge ?

I blame the tags section, it has definitely encouraged nasties to leave vitrolic comments (anonymously, of course) and soured the community feeling on this site. It is killing the fun of NewsBiscuit. Hope something gets done.

I don't have a problem with someone telling me I'm shit as long as they have the goods to back it up. We all know who they are, don't we? The people who seem to be here only to comment in a negative way but very rarely actually submit anything themselves. At worst we should just ignore these people and at best find a way to exclude them until they contribute.

I can't see the point of the tags anyway. It's just a mechanism for anonymous abuse.

And why is my pseudonym up there anyway? For the record, I don't have any aliases, if that's the point.

Actually I don't know who they are. I assume they aren't the same as those who say what they think in person. And the only way I can see to exclude them until they contribute is to do away with the open tags.

Trickster, look at the top right side of the screen. There's a little box under the list of tags, in which you can write a comment. It's meant to be like a quick reference, so if someone types 'fart' in the search box, all posts tagged with 'fart' will come up. However, some use it to post anonymous insults and abuse, in a cowardly manner.
