In a move that mirrors past conflicts, the coalition government has announced a Christmas Day truce.
The two sides have agreed that December 25 will not be marred by the recent political infighting.
While the Lib Dems have promised the refrain from talking about the Tories behind their backs, David Cameron has agreed to tell Nick Clegg what the government is actually doing for the duration of the day.
A government spokesman said: 'Everyone involved misses the old days of having no real responsibility, especially on Christmas Day.
'So this year we've decided to take a break from normal business and leave each other alone.'
He added that a game of football has been organised in the park and the Cabinet Secretary had agreed to referee.
