Leave Rikkor alone, FFS. He might enjoy the occasional barb, but he cares more about the quality of the writing on this site than most people. And he's often funnier than most too.
As for your request "I would ask you to quote some of the 'general dross' that you cite." - are you serious?
This forum's becoming a nasty Daily Mail sort of place lately, is what I think.

offlineMemberNot that Rikkor needs anyone to leap to hs defence, but I don't think we need threads that single out individual biscuiteers, I wouldn't like it if it was me. Anyway, every Oyster needs a bit of grit to make a pearl (help, I seem to be turning into a fortune cookie).

offlineMemberHi rikkor. Ignore him and keep bitching. I know it winds some people up most of the time and certainly winds most of the people up some of the time, but I'm sure you do it with the best of intentions - i.e. to encourage people to put their efforts into being funny and writing well. And you do it in that American way that some regard as frank/honest and others find brash/abrasive. Just try to be a bit more sensitive, you cnut.
The new chat format accommodates the most incredibly long threads without taking up any more space on the summary page, allowing people to join in where they want or ignore a topic if they prefer. There's plenty of room for everyone, so I suggest you two keep out of one another's way, unless you want me to bang your heads together. Oh dear, I'll probably get reported to social services for that comment.
