..mentioned in the FP! And someone brought it up here in the chatroom not so long ago. Honestly, it's the Take That of the book world.
Fine FP by the way Mr Stwell.

Fine FP by the way Mr Stwell.
Fasinating read, though.
Oh, newsbiscuit editorial team, we've had our differences of opinion, but I'll always love you really. Thanks for putting in the excellent Civil War... reference - I wonder if we'll ever find out why it's always mentioned on NB?
One thing though - a journalist for TV Quick? Let's try and keep things realistic - who'd stoop that low?
Thanks Zadok, and fine hat-tipping, lovely Stunts!
Actually, it was TV Times you unutterable bastards and a fine career I had there too. I interviewed the Cheeky Girls for God's sake - the Pulitzer was moments away.
Marvellous FP Ricky boy. God bless you and all the badgers who sail in you.
In "Civil War, (etc.)", I was vey pleased to find a mention of Nell Gwynn's famous "receipt", Ye Sovereign Mercury And Spikenard Remedy For Ye Clappe. I had lost my copy, and couldn't remember in the frankincense had to be heated first or added at room temperature.
Sheez, they don't half dish out hat-tips for the tiniest things...still, beggars etc.:
*curtsey*
Well done Rick, a delight of an FP xx
Purely by chance I found what may or may not be the first reference to Civil War... It's that man Oxo again. Guess who's editing FPs at the moment.
Oh, is it Oxy doing the FPs? I thought it was someone taking the piss!
Cheers Oxbridge!
We wouldn't want Oxbridge to be accused of self-promotion, so just to be clear, this was simply the editorial team spotting an opportunity to introduce a new generation of readers to the instructive delights of Civil War, Interregnum and Restoration in Gloucestershire, 1640-72. It is available in all good bookshops and makes an ideal Christmas gift.
Thanks for being a good sport, Oxbridge. And to others out there with goods to sell, for the right fee NewsBiscuit offers an excellent product placement service which will put your goods in the shop window for literally tens of people to see.
Just buy the blooding thing someone...anyone...
Oh and there was no such word as 'Ye', as any fule kno. That was just an archaic way of writing 'the'. I'd love to go on but the nightlife of Frankfurt on a snowy night in December beckons.
Oxy, don't be a thorn wot looks like a p in me side.
