New Pilot Roger Vang described the moments of confusion which led him to land on the A449 in Warwickshire two miles from the airfield he was supposed to land on.
'Everything seemed to be going ok until I asked for permission to land from the tower' said the pilot.
Newbie pilot Vang described how he was thrown by the towers instruction, ok dk2ft1 you are clear to land, roger.
'I assumed there was more to come from them mentioning my name at the end of that sentence and thats why I said what bloody now!'
As Vang did not receive an adequate reply to confirm his request to land he overshot the runway and had to take avasive action by crash landing on the busy commuter route that is the A449.
The suggestion that Vang should be given a crash course in aircraft radio communication has been branded as bad taste considering how he landed but local police had this advice to offer.
'At the very least he should be made to read the highway code again considering the way he ignored that red light at the temporary roadworks' commented one of the police officers attending the crash site ' I didn't like his attitude much either especially when he answered The Red Baron when I asked him who does he think he is'.
