Today programme carried a story about Shakespeare being half French. Haven't seen anything else. The Indy normally does one.

I will have to check out the Sun, there's are usually so blindingly subtle that even the densest reader twigs imediately.
BMW used to do some good newspaper ads for April 1st, like an automatic washer for the badge on the grill. They used to get tons of calls from people wanting them.
My favourite was Autosport magazine did an article that there would be a touring car race at Heathrow Airport(because Sunday afternoons where quiet). They had plans of grandstands next to the runway and everything. They had everyone right up to the point where they said cars would qualify one at a time on Saturday in between jumbo jets landing, which would be ok because touring cars could go faster than the planes.

The One from the Archives today must be a sort of reverse April fools in that it is a straight news story from long ago? Not a knob gag in sight.

I saw this on walkit.com. Sounds a good idea actually. Walkit is an excellent website for getting about London etc on foot.

Was a bit dubious about that 'Lego Art' feature to start with....but if it is for real, then it's magnificent.
I know we are supposed to be cynical right now (get a life gags etc) but can't help but admire the man immensely.

I expect that I am one of the very few members here who actually saw Richard Dimblebey's BBC report on the failure of the Italian spaghetti harvest, many, many years ago (Panorama as I remember).

Hint: it comes loaded with a library of Tino Rossi's Great singles and sermons given by Monsiegneur Barnabé (not in Latin, though).

Richard Attenborough ought to do a clip on the philosophical sayings of marmouset monkeys for us to remember him by.

Then there was the one in Repubblica about Berluscosa's mausoleum being converted into a B&B for British tourists; the photoshop had Basil Fawlty and Manoel setting up the rat in the dining room..

Re Oxbridge: Tchoh! I never noticed that one - just thought it was a particularly unfunny headline from back in the day.
I saw something on Yahoo news about the clocks being put forward yet another hour to compensate for the crap weather.
