In a remarkable tit-for-tat battle, MPs yesterday gathered at Universities across the country to protest at the reduced monies they were able to claim for through the MPs' Expense Scheme.
"It's SO unfair", huffed one MP, who wished to remain anonymous. "I may be paying the mortgage on my third house for another 30 years now. This isn't what I stood for when I became an MP. They keep changing the rules. You can't trust the electorate to deliver what they promise".
Meanwhile, in Westminster, students were shocked to find they had been protesting in vain as no Members of Parliament were to be found. "It's really rather funny, isn't it? The country seems to work perfectly well without them... now there's a thought!".
