Is anyone watching Frankie Boyle's new show? It's...I don't know, boring mostly and entirely fixated on child abuse and anal sex. And I mean entirely in the first episode every single joke was about one or the other and often both.
Loved his book, big fan of his stand up, never seen Mock the Week but it seems to have been on for a hundred years so I'm sure they must be doing something right, but this is not for me.
Be interested to see what other Biscuits think.

This reminds me of Bill Bailey's stand up that I recently went to see - for completely opposite reasons. I went to see the Dandelion Mind (?) thing on at the moment... great seats etc., but I wasn't a big fan of Bill Bailey before I went. I went more out of curiosity. ANYWAY (skip to the end!) ...He's SO inoffensive. But absolutely hilarious. I'm basically in lovel with the guy. And I don't love guys. But my word. No rapey stuff, no - or not much - swearing, not much talk of sex... just seriously funny comedy. Gawd bless 'im.

Sooooo disappointed by Tramadol Nights, although I did giggle a wee bit at the Knight Rider sketch the other week.
Thought he was a genius on Mock the Week, and the stand up was fab too, but this... this is beyond shite.
It reminds me of the sort of pish that some wee boy trying to act big in front of his mates would do.

'Taboo' subjects fail to shock if they're wheeled out too often. Swearwords too. They need using sparingly, like chilli powder in cooking. I've only ever seen Frankie Boyle on Mock the Week, and he always seemed overly pleased with himself about getting a laugh out of something offensive. Picking on vulnerable targets can look like bullying, too, especially when the world is full of mad, greedy, self-important bastards who deserve to be mocked and satirised...

I'm enjoying the standup bits the sketches are a bit hit and miss. Have seen his live stuff become more & more offensive over the years but still funny.
My bro in law thinks he is mentally ill so take your pick
Enjoyed one Bill Bailey thing live but he then ruined it by doing the last 10 minutes with his band Beergut 100 - pub band rubbish

Apparently viewing figures dropped between the first show and the second show, will be interesting to see if figures for tonight's show are up as a result of all the publicity the show has received in the last seven days after Jordan made her complaint to OFCOM.

The thing I find even harder to forgive than the lazy attention-seeking "look at me, I say cunt" comedy (he's a really smart bloke - he can be so much funnier and still push the envelope) - is that Frankie has left me feeling that Katie Price has the moral high ground.
The 'where to draw the line' debate is a regular and robust one around here and I'm firmly on the side of free speech. But just because he should be allowed to say what he wants doesn't mean that he can't use some compassion - even for Katie Price. To make a twisted joke about a disabled child is pretty grim in my humble, especially as he has been blessed with a healthy child. Wouldn't like that kind of karma knocking around my family. God knows we've enough hexes and voodoo curses to contend with already.

I feel the same way about Jerry Sadowitz. He's utterly predictable, does a few magic tricks, brilliant ones to be fair, then calls everyone in the audience a cunt and shouts about hoping people will die horribly from cancer.
One of the most boring gigs I've ever been to.

I've only ever seen Jerry Sadowitz live once, at Glastonbury Festival. Maybe I was younger, more easily pleased (and pleasantly stoned, no doubt), but I laffed myself silly. He went into the audience and punched a couple of people. Like I say: easily amused. Of course, if he's still doing this then maybe the joke's wearing thin...
