Councillors in Walsall officially declared street corners as designated places for work for prostitutes and have banned them from smoking whilst touting for business
Our reporter interviewed Janet Brown, 34, a prostitute for some years now, who wished to remain anonymous but we printed her name anyway, and she says "its mad. In the depths of winter we huddle round the odd fag to keep warm and as for slapping "No Smoking" signs on the corners, well it’s got a bit silly. One bloke has issued one of the girls with a Fire Marshall high-viz jacket, there’s a first aid box on the wall and a fire exit sign at the end of Smithson Street
We have already complained that the working temperature is below the office standard of 16C only to be told that our area of operation is usually the back seat of a Mondeo and we’ve been told to get on with it
Next it will be a time and motion study but we are more keen to get cocking on than clocking-on"
