I see it has been taken up by quite a few news outlets, but surely some of the dialogue is too good to be true...does the BBC seed these stories so that Russell Howard can fill another 10 minutes of BBC3 air-time?
You watch though. You'll get copycat crimes
In a week's time I bet there'll be loads of people getting up and finding their snowman stolen.
And I wager people will start reporting that their lawn has been returned.
If the operator had had her wits about her, she would have offered to 'send round Inspector Morse, played by John Thaw, innit.'
Hi Golgo - I take it you have never been to Chatham!
@IABP - To paraphrase the old headline "It's the Sun wot done it".
A crime is a crime. Does it matter whether it's a million dollar sculpture or a snowman with pound coin eyes?
Frankly, I'm disappointed she got such a frosty reception.
Yes, it does matter. If you put pound coins out in the snow and don't keep an eye on them for four or five hours, that's like giving them away or losing them. More importantly, where did she get the snow? Was it HER snow? Anyway, as a smoker, she has no rights at all.
Still, it's a good story - she'll be breaking the ice at parties all winter.
