During the last ice age, their sloping foreheads became a disadvantage, as ice could build up to a thick layer overhanging their eyebrows.This meant they could not see where they were going, or hunt effectively.The modern hominid group survived because, with vertical fore head, the ice slid off, this also had the effect of making eyebrows smaller (with the exception of the Bishop of Cardiff)
