A General Practitioner from the West Country has fallen foul of Britain's decaying road network.
Dr Foster was walking through Gloucester city centre when he stepped in what he thought was a shallow puddle created by the inclement weather. Unfortunately for the physician it was actually a massive pothole caused by years of neglect on that stretch of road.
Witnesses reported seeing Foster fall 'up to his middle'. He was eventually able to make his way out of the hole, soaking wet but having suffered only minor injuries.
Dr Foster was later quoted as saying he would never go there again.
The Highways Agency have refused to comment.
