The celebrity giraffe ‘Crouchy’ has been killed by a freak lightning strike.
Tottenham Manager Harry Redknapp said that the Spurs squad are heartbroken following the sudden death of "playful and charming" Crouchy.
The thunderstorm which killed Crouchy, took place on Monday evening at the River Lea nature reserve in London N15.
The squad did not witness the incident, as they were away from the reserve preparing for tonight’s Premier League fixture at home to Sunderland.
"We are all desperately upset about the passing of Crouchy, who has been part of the Tottenham family for five years," said Redknapp.
"It was a natural disaster, but nevertheless heartbreaking for everyone who has been involved with him - he was a real character.
"Crouchy was a gentle, playful and charming giraffe. Ok he’d had his share of lurid tabloid headlines, but show me a celebrity giraffe who hasn’t. He will be greatly missed by everybody."

That will teach him for staying out too long in a storm chasing cows around attempting to hit their arses with a banjo.Posted 3 years ago #
