While the Government introduces Quarantine Hotels, plans to put potentially ill travellers in your spare bedroom have been less than popular. Airbnb plans to offer private lodgings for any holidaymaker displaying Coronavirus-like symptoms, provided they comment favourably on the water pressure, without stealing the towels.
Homestays for the infected will tap into the market for those who want to get ill on a budget. Said one reviewer: ‘By the second week of the virus I had to be put on a ventilator, but the Wi-Fi signal remained good – overall four stars out of five’.
Another commented: ‘The refrigerator was spotless, which was perfect for keeping my vaccine shots at an appropriate temperature. The bathroom was stocked with toiletries and His’N’Her swabs. But my wife did die of an underlying health condition – two stars’. Sadly, the cancellation policy for any virus sufferer is strict, as death is no excuse.
There was one cryptic review left by a C.Ovid, who had visited the UK back in 2019: ‘It was great getting meet as many people as possible. I only booked for a couple of days – but I plan to stay for much longer. So much longer’.
