Ledbury Amateur Dramatic Society (LADS) have been forced to cancel this years pantomime after one of its leading players was sentenced to death by the Iraqi Supreme Court.
With just days to go before the curtain goes up on their musical extravaganza production of Ali Baba and the Forty thieves, the man set to play the lead role of Ali was convicted of the persecution of religious parties, the execution of dozens of political prisoners and the wearing of a comedy moustache for everyday purposes.
The production has been bedevilled with problems from the start
