Decades ago I recall pro-smoking libertarian types saying that what people who objected to being poisoned by cigarette smoke should have to do is buy a personal air bubble, a bit like a divers helmet, and supply of oxygen. The idea was that you should have to pay for clean air... rather than that clean air should be the default and the cost fall on the polluter.
Anyway, obviously no one ever manufactured such an absurd device... Until covid-19.
Sir Lupus - some of the hawk-eyed followers of detail here may have noted that when the smoking ban came in, a couple of exemptions were included. One might cynically suggest to allow cigar-chugging, brandy-swilling, red-leather-wing-back-seated members of Gentlemen's clubs to continue to do whatever they pleased. Top men.
