Celebrity charity worker Paul Bin Laden is to appear on BBC show Who Do You Think You Are? in an attempt to discover who his family are.
Bin Laden has no knowledge of who the Bin Ladens are after he was found on the doorstep of a London orphanage as a baby with only his name written on his crib.
He has dedicated his whole life to charity work in thanks to those who fostered and raised him.
Bin Laden said: "I've spent my adult life happily trying to help others who have not been as lucky as me - it brings me so much joy to improve the lot of my fellow human beings.
"But now I think it's time to find out who Paul Bin Laden is; who are is relatives, what do they do?
"I wouldn't be surprised that when I do find them they will also be involved in helping others, I must get that from somewhere.
"Maybe they are charity workers like me or philanthropists, using their money good and to spread happiness."
Filming of Bin Laden's episode is due to start soon, with his initial research being close to home.
"I've always had this feeling I have Irish blood - Bin Laden has always had a real Irish sound to it."
